Doing your own interior decorating can save you a lot of money. There are also lot of other things you can do yourself around the home that can save you money. If you have a flair for DIY you can save a fortune by doing your own simple repairs around the house for example.

I learned all this the hard way as years ago I was a very poor money manager, money seemed to burn a hole in my pocket and I had thousands of dollars in debt with credit cards and short term loans.
Several years ago I finally decided I had enough and created a budget that would allow me to pay down debt. To do this I had to find way of saving money as I was already working 2 jobs so earning more money was not possible at the time. I cut down on eating out, expensive coffee, cable TV and all the usual stuff we spend hundreds on each month.
The other area I save a few hundred a month on was doing all my own painting, decorating and doing simple repair jobs in the home. Now I have paid off all my credit cards, personal loans and car loans and I am able to save for my retirement. It’s easy when you put your mind to it.
